Waiver amendments for case management

Waiver amendments for case management
On March 21, 2018, the Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services (DDRS) will post for public comment proposed waiver amendments for both the Community Habilitation and Integration (CIH) and Family Supports (FS) waivers. The Division is pursing amendments to enhance the service definition of case management, and to reinforce person centered thinking and concepts emphasized in the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) settings rule. These amendments will also align case management activities with philosophical elements of the LifeCourse Framework, as presented to case managers in the fall of 2017, and presented in the online webinar reviewing the revised Person Centered Individualized Service Plan (PCISP) implementation. It is the Division’s intent to enhance and encourage more person-centered decision making, and introduce increased flexibility in the services and supports provided on both the CIH and FS waivers.
DDRS encourages review and input from all stakeholders throughout the public comment period, beginning March 21, 2018, and ending April 20, 2018.  The waivers will be available for review on the DDRS Announcements page. The Division is pursuing a proposed implementation of August 1, 2018, for these amendments, pending approval form the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
