If you’re nervous or not sure what to say, get started with this easy script.

Fight Proposed Changes that Hurt Medicaid:

Any time the administration wants to change a rule or policy, it must publish the proposed changes and allow the public to comment on them. The administration needs to respond to all of these comments before any changes can go into effect.
You can help protect Medicaid by commenting:
  • OPPOSE states that try to put work requirements into Medicaid.
    • Follow which states have pending proposals to make it harder for people to access Medicaid.
  • We’re still waiting on the Public Charge proposed changes and other proposals that would undermine the Affordable Care Act. When they become available, we will post resources for you to fight back!

Don’t Stop There:

We need every person to get engaged in advocacy to protect Medicaid now! Visit your Senators, join in rallies and protests, and engage in social media to talk about why Medicaid is so important to you and what dramatic cuts or changes would mean.
  • Tell your story – talk to your friends, neighbors, coworkers. Tell them why Medicaid is so important to you, your family, and your community. Invite them to join our fight.
  • Educate your representatives – in Congress, Governors, and State Legislators
  • Stay Informed– visit our learn more page and the sites of other disability advocates. You can also sign up for our  email list or follow us on Facebook.
  • Engage the media – write an op-ed for your local news outlet.
