DDRS Update: Updated documentation standards – Day habilitation & behavior support services

The Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services recently made changes to several waiver service definitions as part of the bureau’s waiver renewal process. The complete, approved waiver documents can be found by clicking here.

As part of these changes, BDDS updated facility habilitation and community habilitation services, and combined them to one service, day habilitation. Additionally, the language in the service definition for behavior support services was updated and clarified. As a result, new documentation standards are being issued for both day habilitation and behavior support services.

The changes for documentation standards for behavior support services are effective July 16, 2020. The change to day habilitation, and changes associated with the documentation standards are effective August 1, 2020.

The documentation standards for these services will soon be updated and available in the in the provider module, and are currently available by clicking here.
