What the Better Care Better Jobs Act Would Do for Your State

 From Justice In Aging

Congress has a historic opportunity to invest in the Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) system. With the full $400 billion investment called for in the Build Back Better Plan, we can transform Medicaid HCBS in every state and ensure that aging adults and people with disabilities have access to the services and supports they need to remain at home and connected to their communities, rather than having to move into a nursing facility.

Nationwide, the Better Care Better Jobs Act would:

  • Enable 3.2 million additional aging adults and people with disabilities to access HCBS;
  • Create 500,000 new jobs for direct care workers; and
  • Enable millions of family caregivers to return to or secure new jobs.

Learn how the Better Care Better Jobs Act will help older adults, people with disabilities, direct care workers, and family caregivers in your state. Find your state’s fact sheet.
