Unwinding of COVID Medicaid Continuous Coverage Requirements
On January 5th, CMS released Key Dates Related to the Medicaid Continuous Enrollment Condition Provisions in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023. A couple of key points are that states can begin to redetermine eligibility for Medicaid starting February 1. The earliest possible date that states could begin to terminate coverage for those individuals no longer eligible for Medicaid is April 1.
If you or a loved one are currently enrolled in Medicaid benefits, it is extremely important to take these simple steps:
1) Make sure your address and telephone number are up to date with your Medicaid provider. You can update your information at FSSA's Benefits Portal: https://fssabenefits.in.gov/bp//#/
2) You need to carefully read and respond (if applicable) to any letters/notices from FSSA.
3) Know your options and be prepared. If you believe you will no longer be eligible for Medicaid, but don't know what other options are available, you can contact Covering Kids & Families of Indiana or search for a Marketplace Navigator in your area that can help.
