Senate Economic Recovery Package

FV Indiana knows that our members like all American are concerned about our current economic crisis. The large issues of housing crisis, bailouts and stimulus plans have garnered national attention. It is important for FV Families to know about and advocate for the parts of the economic recovery package under consideration by the Senate that impact our families directly.
· $87 billion temporary increase in the share of the Medicaid program paid by the federal government over nine calendar quarters (October 1, 2008 through December 31, 2010).
· $13 billion The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) grants provide funding
to assist states and school districts with the costs of special education for the estimated 6.8 million students with disabilities.
Families can share with our Senators that these measure represent critical funding. You can also share how these programs impact your family’s ability to contribute to our economy. Senators can benefit from hearing about how your family is committed to working and contributing to your communities.

Consider sending a short email to:
Senator Lugar senator_lugar@lugar.senate.gov
