Re: Support Service Waiver Amendment
Date: April 19, 2012

The Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services (DDRS) has posted, on its website, the most
recently submitted application to amend to the Support Services Waiver. The Centers For
Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has up to 90 days to review, request clarifications and
issue a decision on the amendment.

Highlights of the pending amendment include changing the waiver’s name to the Family
Supports Waiver, increasing the annual cost limit from $13,500 to $16,250 per participant,
adding a new service called Participant Assistance and Care and once again including Case
Management as a waiver-funded service. Other changes are outlined at the beginning of the
amendment under the section titled “Purpose of Amendment”. Upon the approval of CMS,
relevant changes will also be made within the DDRS Waiver Manual.
