DDRS Individual Experience Survey Results

The Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services (DDRS) is pleased to present the final report from the Center on Community Living and Careers (CCLC), a center of the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community (IIDC) at Indiana University on the Indiana Individual Experience Survey (IES). DDRS contracted with CCLC to carry out this survey in response to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) rules issued in January of 2014. The report is available on the DDRS Announcements’ Web page

The IES is a part of a comprehensive assessment outlined in Indiana’s Statewide Transition Plan that DDRS is undertaking to determine Indiana’s level of compliance with the HCBS rules. The IES was designed to better understand the experiences of individuals who are receiving supports and services through the Community Integration and Habilitation (CIH) waiver and the Family Supports (FSW) waiver.

The information gleaned from the IES is a critical step in the HCBS assessment process and provides DDRS with information to determine the next steps needed to fully assess HCBS compliance.

DDRS would like to thank all of the families, individuals, case managers and providers who participated in the completion of the IES.

DDRS appreciates the commitment and time that everyone in the system put into this survey and believes that the information is invaluable to moving the system forward.

DDRS encourages all providers, families and individuals to read and review the results of the IES to better understand how individuals living in the community utilize the supports that are available to them.

Please send any questions or comments you may have about the IES to BQIS.Help@fssa.IN.gov.
