AWS Foundation awards grant to Family Voices Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS – AWS Foundation of Fort Wayne, Ind., awarded Family Voices Indiana (FV
Indiana) $50,000 in grant funding to increase its capacity to serve families with children with
special health care needs and the professionals who serve them in the northeast region of the
state.''

“Family Voices Indiana is honored to be chosen by AWS Foundation as a 2018 grant recipient,”
said Holly Wheeler, executive director of FV Indiana. “Many families in northeastern Indiana
aren’t accessing all the services and supports their children need because either they don’t know
what’s available or don’t know where to start. These funds will allow us to serve more families
and professionals, ultimately helping more children lead healthier, happier lives.”

FV Indiana will use grant funds in multiple ways, including increased staffing for the 11 counties
AWS serves and enhanced community outreach to the region’s diverse communities.

“We have been building our partnership with AWS for several months and see this grant award
as a symbol of that partnership, one we are dedicated to growing in the future,” Wheeler said.

AWS and FV Indiana also are collaborating on a one-and- a-half- day family-focused educational
conference hosted in conjunction with the Foundation’s disABILITIES Expo at the War
Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Friday, May 11, and Saturday, May 12. The Conference and
Expo will benefit a broad spectrum of families, professionals, vendors, community organizations
and providers who serve the disability community. Information about the Conference and Expo
is available at http://www.fvindiana.org/conference / and http://disabilitiesexpoindiana.org/.
