February opportunities to learn more about the Waiver Redesign Initial Concept Paper
DDRS Update
Last month, the Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services released its Waiver Redesign Initial Concept Paper. We are pleased to share the following opportunities for you to learn more and share your feedback on the ideas and information shared in the concept paper. These include:
Tuesday, February 18, 2020, from 4 – 6 p.m. CST – The Indiana Institute on Disability and Community, in partnership with Self-Advocates of Indiana and The Arc of Indiana, are hosting Self-Advocate and Family Feedback Sessions in Gary, Ind. at Indiana University Northwest located at 3400 Broadway, Hawthorn Hall, Rooms 410 and 416. The session will include an overview of the concept paper and opportunity for discussion and feedback.
Wednesday, February 19, 2020, from 10 a.m. – Noon EST – The DDRS Advisory Council will be holding their monthly meeting in Indianapolis, Ind. at Easter Seals Crossroads located at 4740 Kingsway Drive, Fifth Floor, Conference Rooms 1 & 2. Their meeting will include discussion on the service array ideas presented in the concept paper. Wednesday, February 19, 2020, from 6 – 8 p.m. EST – The Bureau of Developmental Disabilities Services is hosting a Building Bridges event for self-advocates and families in Bloomington, Ind. at Ivy Tech located at 200 Daniels Way, Room C125. The event will include a brief overview of the concept paper with time for sharing ideas, providing recommendations and asking questions.
Friday, February 21, 2020, 1 p.m. EST – Join Cathy Robinson, BDDS director and Jessica Harlan-York, BQIS director on Facebook Live. They will be talking about the concept paper with a particular focus on key concepts and answering your questions. Tuesday, February 26, 2020, from 4 – 6 p.m. EST – The Indiana Institute on Disability and Community, in partnership with Self-Advocates of Indiana and The Arc of Indiana, are hosting Self-Advocate and Family Feedback Sessions in Fort Wayne, Ind. at Ivy Tech located at 3800 N. Anthony Blvd., Rooms CC1640 and CC1629/1630. The session will include an overview of the concept paper and opportunity for discussion and feedback.
Thursday, February 27, 2020, at 6 p.m. EST – BDDS will host a Virtual Listening Session on the Waiver Redesign Initial Concept Paper. The session will include a brief overview of the concept paper with ample time for attendees to share ideas, suggestions and ask questions.
