AWS Foundation Provides Funding for NE Indiana Residents to Attend Summer Transition Conference

Facing the Future Together July 21-23. Indiana students and young adults with disabilities and their families will join teachers, employment specialists, vocational rehabilitation counselors and disability service professionals this summer at Facing the Future Together, a virtual, statewide transition conference.

Who is eligible for a discount.  Students or young adults with a disability or a family members supporting a student or young adult with a disability who reside in either Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Grant, Huntington, Kosciusko, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells or Whitley counties, may be eligible to attend the virtual conference at no charge. AWS Foundation is providing a limited number of scholarships for conference registration. Scholarships are first come, first served, so it’s important to register early.

How it works. Reach out to students and families in your area who you know may be interested in attending one, two, or all three days of the conference.  Tell them to:

1.       Register for the conference and select the days they’d like to attend.

2.      Use PROMOFAMILY in the payment section. If there are still scholarships available, registrants will receive a confirmation email, alerting them that, thanks to AWS Foundation funding, they will not need to pay for registration.

3.      Contact us if they’ve registered and decide they cannot attend. We can make sure someone else is able to use that funding.

For more information and to register for the conference, see the Facing the Future Together webpages  (https://www.iidc.indiana.edu/cclc/training-and-events/facing-the-future-together/index.html) or register directly at https://go.iu.edu/3Mja
