Child and family team meeting attendance
During the public health emergency, the Division of Mental Health and Addiction authorized Child Mental Health Wraparound providers to hold child and family team meetings virtually when requested to do so by the youth and family with concerns regarding health risk exposure.
DMHA specified that virtual CFTMs may be requested only by the youth and family to accommodate the family’s health concerns. The division has been notified that there are providers who are attending CFTMs virtually even when the rest of the team is meeting in-person.
DMHA would like to remind all CMHW providers that attendance at CFTMs is mandatory, and they are expected to attend those meetings in-person.
Families may request for a CFTM to be held virtually when concerned about COVID or other health risk exposure. In cases such as this, the entire team meeting would be held virtually.
Provider staff are never individually excused from attending a child and family team meeting.
Any deviation from this requires DMHA approval prior to implementation. Providers found to be out of compliance will be sanctioned up to and included deauthorization of the provider.
