Resources for Commenting on Health Care Rights Proposed Rule
A new proposed rule implementing the Health Care Rights Law, also known as Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, is open for public comment through October 3. Justice in Aging has prepared a template comment letter focusing on the aspects of the proposed rule that are most important to older adults. Partner organizations have created 6 additional templates focusing on disability, language access, race/ethnicity, LGBTQ+, and other aspects of the rule. LGBTQ+ elders and their loved ones can use SAGE’s comment portal to tell HHS why 1557’s nondiscrimination protections are important to them. My Care Counts is a general comment portal for anyone to use.
