(Webinar) Taxpayers with Disabilities and Families: It’s Not Too Late to Maximize Your 2021 Tax Credits

October 6, 2022 | 3-4 p.m. ET

Join National Disability Institute (NDI) for a timely webinar to learn more about current tax credits for people with disabilities and the federal Child Tax Credit (CTC). The expanded Child Tax Credit is available to millions of families who might not realize they are eligible. It’s not too late to claim the Child Tax Credit, but families need to file a tax return by November 15, 2022.  Often, individuals with disabilities and family members who have children with disabilities do not file a federal tax return due to limited or no income, or fear of a tax refund impacting one of the needs-based benefits they might receive.   In 2021, the Child Tax Credit was expanded to reach more families, including many of whom may not realize they’re eligible for these funds. Even families that don’t normally file a tax return and families which don’t have recent income can still get the full Child Tax Credit. Each household could receive up to $3,600 for each child under 6 years old, and up to $3,000 for each child between 6 and 17 years old. This webinar will provide more information on the Child Tax Credit and how to file a tax return for 2021 and provide information on the Earned Income Tax Credit for persons with disabilities.  Don’t miss this webinar to learn more about opportunities to help build the financial wellness of families and people with disabilities!
