Two New Home Health Bills Introduced to the Committee on Health and Provider Services
Two bills have been introduced and sent to the Committee on Health and Provider Services. Both bills seek to address the home health crisis facing Hoosier families.
- SB 438 sets forth minimum Medicaid reimbursement rates for home health services and allows the office of the secretary of Family and Social Services to reimburse parents and guardians of certain minor Medicaid recipients for the provision of home health services to the recipient.
- SB 474 allows a registered nurse who practices for a home health agency to delegate any appropriate service to a home health aide who has received the appropriate training and supervision.
The first step in moving these bills forward would be for them to be scheduled for a hearing with this committee. SB 474 is scheduled for Wednesday. You can contact the members of the Committee on Health and Provider Services to share your family's experience and let them know how important home health matters are to your family. Again, be sure to include your name, address, and additional contact information so they know you are an Indiana resident.
