WEBINAR: What Taxpayers with Disabilities Need to Know about Filing Taxes

FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES,FAMILY MEMBERS & SUPPORTERS Saturday, February 25 at 11:00 AM ET

Join National Disability Institute (NDI) for a Saturday morning webinar where we will "Spill the Tea" on Taxes for People with Disabilities. This webinar is for individuals with disabilities, their family members, supporters and anyone wanting to learn about the importance of filing taxes for people with disabilities.

Taxes and tax preparation is a way to engage taxpayers with disabilities in a larger conversation about financial wellness and economic advancement. We will dispel myths and talk about favorable credits that can only be claimed by filing taxes.

So, grab a tea, coffee or your favorite Saturday morning beverage and join us. We’re not literally “spilling the tea,” but giving you the plain language details you’ve asked for when it comes to taxes for people with disabilities.

This webinar will:

  • Provide an overview of why tax time is important for individuals with disabilities and families and get you ready to prepare your taxes.
  • Talk about favorable tax credits that often go unclaimed by taxpayers with disabilities and family members because they are not aware of them, including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit (CTC) and ABLE (Achieving a Better Life Experience) account tax benefits.
  • Explain free tax preparation services and how to identify a free tax preparation site in your area.

Attendees will leave with downloadable user-friendly resources and tax tips.

Don't miss this webinar and ensure you're prepared for the tax season!

Webinar Presenter: Michael Roush, Director, Center for Disability-Inclusive Community Development (CDICD) with National Disability Institute.
