Youth*Source Program

YOUTH*SOURCE is a no-cost program to empower youth to be their own best advocate specifically designed for students with a documented disability, ages 14-22.  Sessions are:

MY IEP: LEARNING THE BASICS
Students learn the basics of a case conference meeting, the contents of an IEP, their right to accommodations, and why it is important to participate in their own case conference.  This training includes a 45-minute group session with a maximum of 15 students and a 45-minute individual session with a maximum of 2 students.
HEY! WHERE'S MY TRANSITION PLAN?
Students learn how to plan for their future after high school and the importance of self-advocating.  This training includes a 45-minute group session with a maximum of 15 students and a 45-minute individual session with a maximum of 2 students.
TO HIGH SHCOOL AND BEYOND
Students earning an alternate diploma will be able to identify concepts that will help during their educational years and beyond.  There are six, 30 minute sessions with a maximum of 2 students in each session.

Special education teachers and administrators appreciate that components of this program address important requirements of the transition process.
