From FSSA

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration is excited to announce that our federal partners at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services approved the proposed home and community-based services waiver rate increases retroactive to July 1, 2023.  We continue to be encouraged by the support for this strategic priority from stakeholders, legislators and our federal partners as we've advance the work throughout 2023.

The HCBS waivers impacted by the new, approved rates are the:

  • Aged & Disabled Waiver
  • Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver
  • Community Integration and Habilitation Waiver
  • Family Supports Waiver
FSSA is working to implement the rates in their IT systems later this fall.  Providers should continue to ill as outlined in these June 6 and July 11 IHCP bulletins (BT202359 and BT202378).  Division of Aging providers, please also reference guidance that was provided on September 12, 2023.

Updated guidance for HCBS waiver providers will be released by mid-October.  This will include any additional instructions for future billing and how FSSA will handle reconciling the increased rates for the past few months.
