Mental Development Project Advisory Committee Seeking Parents
The AAP Healthy Mental Development team is recruiting 2 parents to serve on a Project Advisory Committee (PAC) that will include parents, pediatricians, and psychologists. The PAC will provide guidance for the project, Evaluation of Pediatric Use of NASEM's Resilience and Wellbeing Tools Funded by the CD the project aims to evaluate the Spanish-language version of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) resilience and wellbeing tools. The project will focus on the following activities:
- Develop an evaluation strategy to assess the acceptability and impact of a Spanish-language version of the tools on child and adolescent coping and resilience.
- Pilot test the Spanish-language version of the tools in 3pediatric settings.
- Use findings from the pilot test to develop strategies to improve the accessibility, reach, and effectiveness of the tools.
It is anticipated that PAC members will participate in the project from September 2023 through July 2024 and dedicate approximately 15 hours to the project. Committee members will be provided a stipend of $1500 for their participation. Since the project is focused on evaluating a Spanish-language tool, preferences will be given to parents who are native speakers of Spanish.
