Study- Competencies to Train Doctors to Care for CMC

Competencies to Train Doctors to Care for Children with Medical Complexity

Doctors are trained to provide care using “competencies”- learnable abilities to perform a specific activity. Competencies can involve all kinds of knowledge and skills, such as communication, team-based care, special medical knowledge, or advocacy.

What do you think are the competencies of caring for children with medical complexity?
What activities and abilities are most important for their training?

A group of doctors and families are researching these questions, and we want your ideas.

Who is eligible to complete the survey:
  • parent or guardian of a child with medical complexity of any age living in the US, Canada or anywhere in the world
  • young adult with medical complexity age 18 to 29 years
  • have a digital device on which can send/receive emails and complete online survey
Please email competenciesincomplex.care@sickkids.ca  if you are interested in doing this study.

If chosen and you complete all 3 surveys (no more than 2 hours time total), you will receive a $50 voucher.
