Opportunity to Join Family Workgroup

The National Resource Center for Patient/Family-Centered Medical Home (NRC-PFCMH), a cooperative agreement between the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), hosted a virtual roundtable discussion in July 2021. In alignment with the national AAP Health Equity efforts, the focus was specifically on anti-black racism. The round table discussion involved members from the NRC-PFCMH Health Equity Subcommittee, in addition to 8 African American and Black families of children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN).

From this discussion, the NRC-PFCMH team would like to continue this work and is looking for African American and Black families of CYSHCN to join as members of our Family Workgroup. As a member, we would ask for you to provide feedback and content suggestions on resources we develop to address equity for African American and Black families of CYSHCN and to potentially present information to larger audiences, if you are comfortable doing so. All parent/caregiver participants will be provided a stipend for their time and participation.

If you are available and interested in serving on the workgroup, please reach out to Jamie, Manager of Medical Home Initiatives (jjones@aap.org) and Melannie, Program Coordinator (mvallejo@aap.org) no later than Friday, September 24th.
