Benefit Counseling Listening Sessions June 2025

 From FSSA

Indiana Vocational Rehabilitation values the insights of our partners in strengthening benefit counseling services for individuals receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance across the state. To ensure the continued delivery of high-quality support, we are seeking stakeholder feedback.

We invite you to register to participate in one of the following sessions to provide feedback on benefit counseling services:

The feedback gathered from these discussions will help inform potential refinements to the ways in which we promote competitive, integrated employment through benefits and work incentive counseling. Specifically, we aim to simplify and streamline service provision, improve consistency around service provision that encourages individuals to maximize their employment earnings, and build capacity for provision of comprehensive guidance to the individuals we serve.

Your feedback is invaluable as we work to improve services and better support individuals in achieving their financial stability through employment. To ensure productive discussions and meaningful outcomes, we will use the following guiding questions:

  • What aspects of the current benefit counseling approach do you find most useful or informative?
  • Does the current structure of benefit counseling effectively meet the needs of the participants you support? How could it be improved to better serve them?
  • Do you and your staff feel adequately trained to provide at least basic guidance and accurately answer fundamental questions regarding benefits?
  • Does your agency have the capacity to address benefit-related questions and concerns for the individuals you support?

Your insights will help shape improvements to promote effective, streamlined, and comprehensive service delivery.
