Ready to move from state advocacy to national policy impact?

The Julie Beckett Policy Academy is a 12-month leadership and policy training opportunity for family leaders, youth leaders, and advocates who are ready to strengthen their policy skills, expand their networks, and help shape national outcomes for children and youth with special health care needs and their families.

What will you learn?

  • How to navigate state and federal policy environments.
  • How to identify national stakeholders, allies, supporters, and opponents.
  • How to translate personal stories and community experience into policy-relevant evidence.
  • How to build coalitions across states, sectors, and organizations.
  • How to communicate with legislators, staff, media, and national partners.
  • How to develop policy proposals, draft legislative language, and promote passage and implementation.
