Marketplace Special Enrollment Period

The Marketplace special enrollment period (SEP) on www.healthcare.gov has been extended through August 15, 2021. During this time, consumers can enroll in or switch health insurance plans.   Information and guidance are being updated regularly. In light of new information in a technical assistance document published on 3/23/21, we would like to update what was published in News & Views on February 4, 2021. The document states “Current enrollees can change to any available plan with the same level of coverage as their current plan.” During this special enrollment period through 8/15/21, consumers are not limited to switching plans within a certain level. Consumers may choose a plan from any insurance company and any metal level.
